Through its Health and Social Services initiatives, the organization works to improve overall wellbeing, reduce barriers to care, and create pathways to stability for individuals and families in Garrett County and surrounding rural areas.
Key services include:
Health Access Navigation and Resource Referrals: Connect residents with primary care providers, behavioral health services, substance use treatment, dental care, and vision support through partnerships with local health departments, clinics, and nonprofits.
Mental Health and Recovery Support: Offer peer-led support groups, wellness workshops, and trauma-informed care programming in collaboration with community-based recovery organizations and licensed professionals.
Nutrition and Food Security Programs: Coordinate food distribution initiatives, mobile markets, community meals, and nutrition education classes to address hunger and promote healthy eating habits among children, seniors, and low-income households.
Housing Stability and Emergency Support: Provide case management and direct support for individuals experiencing housing insecurity or homelessness, including referrals to shelters, transitional housing, and eviction prevention resources.
